    Worst ISP ever
Reviewer: Anonymous       11-16-2007
Connects only half the time and when it does, the speed is nowhere like advertised. I have cancelled my account now and they disabled my e-mail immediately. My Blueyonder e-mail is still going after closing my account for 3 years. Very discourteous - what do you expect from a supermarket based chain?

Tesco Broadband - Stay clear of it
Reviewer: jenniethewren       08-04-2006
I have has nothing but trouble from Tesco, I did everything it said on the installation disc, the operators failed to contact me back, they blamed my computer for having the bios locked, problem with the ethernet connection. The trouble is that Tesco do not provide the service, its Fujitsu Siemens Group. All the operators do is look in manuals. One girl I spoke to on the helpline was crying as she could not find anyone to help me.

I signed up to Tesco Broadband 12 months ago and it has been a disaster ever since the go live date they gave me didn't happen. After 6 weeks of phoning and complaining and them telling me it was my computer they eventually sent a BT engineer who said it was the line and sorted the problem stight away. So you would then expect every thing to be fine wouldn't you? Well no, it very rarely connects, and when it does it's either raining or on a night. According to the help line: Excuse No.1 this is because their is a higher usage of telephones in the area in a day (obviousley nobody must use their phone when it's raining) Excuse No.2 it's my computer (so I got an engineer to come to my house to check my computer and guess what nothing wrong with it) Excuse No.3 BT are doing some work in the area (I rang BT and no they weren't). After spending at least £100 on telephone calls to the help line for them to give me feeble excuses, be laughed at and have the phone hung up on me and be told they would phone me back (this never happened). I am changing providers and they're not being typically helpful about that. I have asked for a refund several times to be told no
So I would advise nobody to use Tesco Broadband as it's the biggest waste of money I have ever found. Unless you want to pay for a service that you will only ever receive half of.

I applied for Tesco Broadband and was told that everything would be with me within 10 days

I applied for Tesco Broadband and was told that everything would be with me within 10 days, I then received a letter saying that due to demand it would be about 3 weeks. Three weeks later I did receive my modem etc, I was also given a date (which was 10 days later) for my activation, fine, I thought, HAHA, the day came, and true to their word I could connect to the internet, ONLY, they forgot to tell me that they were having problems with their DNS server, and had been doing for months, after several phone calls they admitted that they could not tell me when this problem would be solved so although I could connect to the internet I could do nothing else.
Also on my first call I hadn't realised that there was a free phone number which I could call and although I explained to the person who I was talking to that I was a new customer not once did he give me the free phone number, seemed quite happy telling me to do stupid things to my pc (delete all history, clear cookies and temp internet files!!) to try and correct an error that was Tesco fault anyway, was even told at one point that I was to take my pc to an engineer to get it fixed as there was a fault with it, yes, the same fault that Tesco admitted was theirs! I know nothing about computers but do know that if there is a fault at the start of something then the end product will not work, hey, and all that from a mere woman!!!
I would NEVER recommend Tesco to anyone...........oops I lied, I would recommend it to an enemy to really annoy them!

    Tesco broadband is rubbish!
Reviewer: Max Cady       05-09-2006
Tesco broadband is rubbish! I waited 6 weeks for connection then they overcharged me. I still haven't had a refund, and the customer service operators are not helpful, when you can get through. They didn't collect a direct debt one month then charged double the next month, and when you've had enough of them and go to another company, they cut you off before the migration is complete!!

I am highly disillusioned with Tesco broadband
Reviewer: Ann Gerrard       05-09-2006
I am highly disillusioned with Tesco broadband, as advice given is impossible to carry out due to lack of connection to home computer. Phone calls do not have knowledgeable people answering, except on very rare occasions. I am paying for a service that I am unable to receive.

Set-up was easy. No download limit.
