Poor customer support, Telewest is now VirginMedia.com. Broadband service they provide is not secure. They allow other users of their service to view other customers internet access. I would not recommend them as a good broadband service provider.
 Very reliable. Excellent support. Regularly upgraded.

I've been a customer of Telewest Broadband for over three years, and I have nothing but praise for the service. The speed has been regularly updated without extra cost - recently to 4MB's. Extremely reliable with no problems of any significance. When my cable modem developed an intermittent fault, it was replaced without question within 24 hours of it having been reported, even though the service had been barely affected. An effective user interface is also provided, and again regularly updated/upgraded.

Telewest Broadband have been very reliable, and a while back they increased my bandwidth to 1MB for the same cost. The deals offered to new customers are very good, but not to existing customers. It appears that being loyal for a numbers of years is of no consequence, and the new customer deals are subsidised by existing customers.
