    Cox.com, the solution for us
Reviewer: remnjava       09-14-2007
Pros: quick downloads; always "on"; doesn't tie up telephone
Cons: technicians
I have had my Cox.com service now for over a year. The connections are 99.9% reliable here in Eastern Nebraska. Cox is also my telephone provider as well as my cable television provider. For my Internet Service Provider service along with the cable

Pros: Fast when it works.
Cons: Cost per month, intallation fee, bad customer service, service outages.
Thirsting for a faster connection speed to my addiction (the internet) I fell under the spell of Cox Communications plethora of media bombardment. Being convinced that their service was better than the invention of sliced bread I picked up the phone

    Cox's Crappy Excite@Home
Reviewer: djsplendid       09-14-2007
Pros: supposedly fast
Cons: 2 many people on 1 bandwidth, down alot, unhelpful
When I first got my cable modem, I absolutely loved it. At that time it was contracted by TCI cable, but was in the process of selling to AT&T. Which was fine, I never had a problem with TCI or AT&T when they had my cable modem. Then good'ole

Great for up to 2 machines, Gouge You After That
Reviewer: seracorde11       09-14-2007
Pros: Much better speed than the ADSL I previously had, cheaper too!
Cons: If more than two machines are connected, they charge for a business!
I have been using Cox Communications as my web provider for over a year now, and I have been mostly satisfied with the experience. After having a bad phone line at my last living quarters and suffered through a slow ADSL line with no more than a 20k

I feel the need The need for Speed
Reviewer: chrissamdog       09-14-2007
Pros: speed
Cons: netscape crashes at times
I just recently moved to San Diego where I now use Cox Communication for my Internet and my Cable TV. I am somewhat disappointed with the speed of the Cable connection. At times it can be very fast, but a lot of the time it is actually pretty slow.

Cox Internet Access: Helpful Folks, Better Speed!
Reviewer: MsHooterville       09-14-2007
Pros: Good service people, telephone support and speed -- phone line free!
Cons: Not always lightening fast.
"You just have an AOL dial-up connection? Oh..."

How many times have people wrinkled their noses if you've said that's the way you get online? I've seen it for several years now, and for a long time, I really didn't see what the big deal

Decent Connectivity ... When it Works
Reviewer: e-diva       09-14-2007
Pros: When it works, faster than a 56k dialup modem.
Cons: Service often down, uneducated support personnel, highly congested backbone, no dual-homed or redundant connections means frequent access problems for customers.
I've been with Cox cable for about 8 months now. It's a moderately pricey solution, costing about $80 a month for connectivity.

For that price, I get a rented cable modem, 1 IP address allocation, 5 mailboxes and about 400kbits/sec download
